Terry Henfleet truth or fiction

February 24, 2010 by Dave Yates · 3 Comments

Stoke's mythical youngster Terry Henfleet - loaned to Sheffield Wednesday

It all started with Sheffield Wednesday. A rumour hit the ground that they were taking Stoke City’s talented young Scottish Internetional Terry Henfleet. The story was picked up by Paul Thompson, sports reporter on the Sheffield Star. Tweets on the player’s Twitter page confirmed the story. And he regularly gets a mention on Stoke City’s fanzine website The Oatcake. And he also has a fans page on FaceBook where Stoke and Sheffield fans have been keen to follow him.

It’s one of those spontaneous happenings started by Sheffield Wednesday fans and instantly picked up by Stoke fans. The player has been mentioned in the press and announced over the PA at Hillsborough, but alas he does not exist.

Full marks to fans of Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday.
